ST. ALBANS – Northwest Hearing Services has been helping people in Northern Vermont improve their quality of life since 2003.
We provide excellent patient care with a patient-provider relationship based on honesty and integrity. We are committed to providing the highest level of care available for people with hearing loss.
Once we have assessed your hearing with state-of-the-art equipment in a soundproof booth, we can recommend a treatment plan based on your particular needs. If your assessment reveals the need for additional specialists, we have established relationships with suppliers in the region and will make the appropriate referrals for you.
Northwest Hearing Services patients will experience:
Experienced Professionals: Dr. Kristi Dumont is a Ph.D. in Audiology with over 25 years of experience and Shannon Blake is an Audiology Assistant with over 10 years of experience. We have spent years studying and learning this area. It’s not just a job, but a career in which we invest ourselves completely.
In-depth hearing assessments: We will assess your hearing, speech comprehension and possibly your cognitive function, as hearing does not stop at the ears but continues to the brain for comprehension. If necessary, a tinnitus assessment will also be performed.
Information and education: If you understand your hearing loss and your treatment options and how those options will work for you, you will be better equipped to make an informed decision. We believe that an educated patient, who has been counseled about their loss and their expectations, is much more likely to succeed. We can only help you hear your best if you are an involved participant. You are an important part of the treatment plan.
CURRENT TECHNOLOGY ADAPTED TO YOUR NEEDS: Today’s hearing aids have improved dramatically and we keep up to date with the latest advancements. We’ll show you available options such as rechargeable batteries, Bluetooth streaming, and water-resistant cases.
Hearing aid validation: We perform in-ear measurements on all our new hearing aid fittings. By using probe microphones in the patient’s ears, we can measure the output of the hearing aids to make sure they match the targets.
Passionate and Caring Providers: We love our careers and our patients. We are not a big box store or franchise. We live here in this community with our patients; we see them at the grocery store and at school events. When we meet them, we want to be sure that we have always done our best to help them. We go above and beyond to provide a standard of care we can be proud of. We love what we do.
Whether it’s your first hearing test or your first pair of hearing aids or you’ve been going to another provider for decades, you can count on us to address your concerns, advise you on your treatment options and provide you with reliable follow-up care. You can rest assured that all your questions will be answered and if you need hearing aids you will be fully involved in the process of selecting the best product for your lifestyle and needs.
Choosing the right hearing care professional is the most important decision you will make on your journey to better hearing. It’s not about choosing the best hearing aid. Help is only as good as the professional who programs it.
Appropriate selection, fitting, validation of aid performance and instructional guidance are essential to your success. Don’t buy a hearing aid; shop for a supplier.
