Community service obligations
You may be eligible for a hearing aid through the Community Service Obligations (CSO) stream.
You will need to be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
You will also need to belong to one of the voucher eligibility criteria groups and have complex hearing or communication needs, or live in a remote area.
There are additional criteria for Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders, as well as those under 26.
The list of hearing aids that can be subsidized under the PSS includes:
- High power behind-the-ear (BTE) devices
- BTE devices
- Open ear devices
- In-ear devices (ITE)
